This policy explains what information GamerDX ("we", "us") collects when you use the GamerDX app, why we collect it and the choices you have. GamerDX is run by GamerDX. Contact: hello@gamerdx.app.

Information we collect

Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we never see or store your actual password.

Your collection: the games, consoles, accessories and parts you add, with details you enter such as platform, condition, prices paid, purchase dates, stores, notes, ratings, loans, sales and wishlist items, plus any cover photos or gallery photos you upload.

Settings: your chosen currency. Appearance, layout and Quick Add preferences are saved only on your device.

Barcodes and search terms you enter, which are used to look up games and prices.

We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers, we only access photos you choose to upload, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

Camera and photos

If you choose to scan a barcode, the camera is used on your device only to read the barcode; no image is stored.

If you choose to take or pick a photo for a cover or gallery, only that photo is uploaded and stored privately with your account. We don't access the rest of your photo library.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.

To store and sync your collection across the devices you sign in on.

To look up game details and box art, and to check CeX UK prices for your items, including daily automatic price checks.

To send you password reset codes when you ask for them. We do not send marketing emails.

Services we share data with

RAWG (game database): game titles and search terms are sent to look up game details and box art. No account details are shared.

CeX / WeBuy UK listings: game titles, platforms and barcodes are used to search publicly available CeX product listings for prices. No account details are shared. GamerDX is not affiliated with CeX or WeBuy.

Email delivery provider: your email address and the reset code are passed to our email provider only to deliver password reset emails.

Hosting and storage providers: your account, collection and uploaded photos are stored on secure cloud servers operated for us.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and collection for as long as your account exists. Password reset codes expire after 15 minutes and are deleted once used.

If you delete your account, your profile, collection, price history and reset codes are permanently deleted from our live database straight away. Photos you uploaded are removed from your account and can no longer be viewed; their stored files may remain in our storage provider's systems until they are purged. Copies in routine server backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

Your rights and choices

You can view and edit your information in the app at any time, and export your collection as a CSV file from the More tab.

You can delete your account and all its data from More → Legal & account → Delete account.

Depending on where you live (for example under UK or EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise them, email hello@gamerdx.app. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

We process your data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and, for security, on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Deleting your account

In the app: open More → Legal & account → Delete account, enter your password and type DELETE. Your account and all its data are deleted immediately.

Without the app: email hello@gamerdx.app from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We'll confirm and delete it within 30 days.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to your collection requires your sign-in. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

GamerDX is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
